We’re the Ones Carrying the Stories Now

This Sunday, I want to start with how this space came to be.
When I became a mom, I started looking for something that reflected where I actually was.
There was support for pregnancy.
More conversations about postpartum.
But for millennial moms — the ones balancing careers, children, aging parents, and everything in between —
there wasn’t much that felt like it was for us.
At the same time, I was carrying something else.
After losing my mom, I realized how little of her inner world I had.
Her thoughts.
Her memories of my childhood.
The things that never made it into photos.
That’s when it clicked.
I didn’t just want pictures.
I wanted my child to have my words.
My voice.
My reflections.
And I wanted a way to hold onto this season — while we’re still in it.
Because in a digital world,
something tangible feels different.
More lasting.
I also realized something else:
We’re the ones creating the traditions now.
The family trips.
The gatherings.
The moments that will become their memories.
That responsibility is ours — and it’s a gift.
These letters are meant to be a pause in the middle of it all.
A place to reflect.
To remember.
To live with intention — not autopilot.
I’m really glad you’re here.
Let’s hold onto this season while we’re living it.
